"Patience is simply not the ability to wait... it's how we behave while we're waiting." - Joyce Meyer

I swear, it seems like all we've done these past six months is wait... wait on results, wait on an evaluation, wait on someone to tell me if there's something wrong with my son, or the way I've raised him so far.

I'm tired of waiting... and yet here I am, waiting again on another evaluation to see if he qualifies for an IEP.

Roman smiling big for his Daddy.

(Gasp!) BUS!

It was quite easy honestly. I loaded Roman up into the car, and we drove to what will likely be his preschool. Immediately, we saw a school bus, the first one Roman has seen in person.

"(gasp) BUS!" yelled Roman.

"Yeah bud! School bus!" I replied.

He was amazed and excited all at once.

We got out, walked across the street (with the guidance of a school crossing guard), and into the school. Roman, was so excited he didn't want to wait in the lobby. He cried and whined as older kids walked by and the teachers tried to comfort him, while explaining to the older kids, "he's just excited."

I felt bad the teachers had to explain my son's behavior. We're working on patience, but it's a work in progress.

The Eval.

We walked into a preschool classroom, and immediately Roman was overwhelmed. Refused to walk in, and started to express his overstimulation.

But, the physical therapist, speech therapist and occupational therapist were all so welcoming, he almost instantly warmed up and started playing with the toys.

Now, they may have just been telling me this, but they were pleasantly surprised at how quick he warmed up, started playing and even started conversing with them.

The whole evaluation took about a half an hour. As we left, Roman put on his coat, exchanged the toy in his hand for a bag of pretzels, and off we went.

We have the results meeting February 6.
