"There is a child in everyone of us who is still a trick-or-treater looking for a brightly lit front porch." Robert Brault
This quote couldn't be more true for me. So, when I finally had kids of my own, I was SO excited to share my excitement for one of my favorite holidays.
Beggar's Night as a Mom of Two
It was chaos... just pure... chaos, but oh so worth it. It was so chaotic in fact, that we forgot to take pictures and had to throw the boys' costumes back on just so I had a few shots for memories sake.

Roman enjoying his Halloween haul. (it poured which is why his hair is all wet)

Nolan as a 'Lil Stinker (AKA skunk) and also enjoying his 10-months.
We rushed to get them ready, and rushed to get them out the door. There was plenty of tears shed by both boys, Nolan because he hated the skunk hat, and Roman because well... he's two.
But even though I was so frustrated, it was all worth it.
Beggar's can't be choosers...
The whole week leading up to Halloween, I worked with Roman on getting him to say "Trick or Treat!" He said it a few times, in fun and games with me, but when it came down to it, I couldn't get him to say the words to anyone on the actual night.
Even though the words were never said, I was still so proud of my little man. He walked along with my husband, myself and his little brother around our cul de sac, and right up to every house we took him to.
He gave the neighbors a smile, and picked the pieces of candy he wanted.

Work in Progress...
I know Roman's speech is a work in progress. There are days I get frustrated and days that I realize he's doing his best. He's not refusing to talk, he's processing language differently, and that's okay.
