"a white flag or cloth used as a symbol of surrender, truce, or a desire to parley." - Merriam Webster

I recently read an article in "The Atlantic" talking about declaring an amnesty, or truce when it comes to the pandemic, especially in the early months of 2020.

It made me stop and think about a blog I wrote a few weeks back where I questioned my decisions early on in the pandemic to isolate my then newborn, Roman.

We went on to isolate him for the next two years because of the unknown. And after reading the article, I agree with its author opinion. There were a lot of unknowns, and it's time to forgive.

Time to Forgive

What do I mean by this? Well, in the article the author talks about forgiving those that were wrong about COVID and the information, misinformation and the negativity.

What I mean? I mean it's time for parents like myself, and my husband to forgive the decisions we made in 2020, and 2021. We only did what we thought was right. We only did what we thought protected the most precious thing in our world, our kids.

While SOME of our decisions may have contributed to my son's developmental delays, I take responsibility for them, and forgive myself. I'm learning as a mom, it's okay to make mistakes. We're not perfect. We're all just trying to figure out how to raise our babies to be responsible, genuine, honest human beings.
