"When a child gives you a gift, even if it's a rock they just picked up, exude gratitude. It may be the only thing they have to give, and they have chosen to give it to you." - Dean Jackson

Roman playing outside with his rock "friend" in the background of this picture.

Music to my ears.

That one little word, "ock" was music to my ears. Roman, said it so proudly and with the biggest smile on his face as he turned around to see my reaction.

He then jumped on top of the rock, and jumped off. He did that about ten times before getting bored.

But, this initiation in conversation with my two-year-old, was something I had been waiting and longing to have.

We are having him tested for autism at the end of November, and this four-letter word, or three-letter-word in his case, gave me hope, that we didn't have to worry any longer.
