This blog is a follow-up blog to one I wrote in October after attending a virtual webinar for state program my son is a part of.

In October, I attended a virtual webinar with the state, and on the webinar was a guest speaker from Akron Children's Hospital, Dr. Jessica Foster.

She's the Director of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, The Venner Family Endowed Chair in Autism and Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrician.

She gave insight on what we're now seeing with developmental delays, but also the subtle differences professionals need to identify and consider when diagnosing a delay versus a Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis.

A Little Bummed...

After that webinar I reached out to Akron's Children's media contact to get an interview with Dr. Foster, but because of the large volume of requests, I was told they would post a video with her talking about the issue.

The video is posted below, but I have to be honest I'm a tad bummed. I was hoping to gain more insight into the subtle differences we're seeing between developmental delays due ot the pandemic, and ASD.

I still wanted to share the video with the information provided, because it is good for parents to know what to do and who to talk to if they suspect their child has a developmental delay.
