Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Elyse Sevi. I'm a working mama of two incredibly amazing, energetic and full of personality boys. My oldest is Roman and my youngest is Nolan.

Who am I?

I'm a journalist and have been working in the industry for the past 15 years, but my real job is being a mom. I'll be brutally honest, I never wanted to be a mom. It's just not something I ever dreamed I would be good at. To be fair, I had a pretty rough upbringing and didn't want my kids to take on my childhood trauma, or in the back of my crazy mind, basically I didn't want to screw them up. But now that I am a mom, I couldn't imagine my life any other way.

Why I started this blog.

I started this blog because my oldest, who is now nearly three-years-old, is struggling with developmental delays. He has a speech delay, that we've been working on for the past year or so. He was also delayed in his motor skills, i.e. crawling and walking.

I mean, look at that model lean. My Roman.

As a journalist, my curiosity gets the better of me. I want answers. Is it my fault? Was I not doing enough as a mom? What effect has the pandemic had on the development of my son? Will it affect my youngest?

As I did my own research, I found there's not a lot out there when it comes to how the pandemic is affecting our youngest generation. Not only that, but there's no one who's in the thick of it, talking about their experience.

I want this to be a place where I can share my personal journey, but also a place of open and free discussion.
